The Chough Bakery is a small family run craft bakery based at the Quayside in Padstow which has been running for nearly 30 years. Our multi award winning pasties are made using locally sourced ingredients and are famous for their extra dollop of “Cornishness” we give them by adding clotted cream.
Making everything from artisan breads to homemade cakes our bakery prides itself of our many awards and sourcing only the highest quality ingredients for our goods.
We are dedicated to locally sourcing whenever possible and here are some examples on how we go that extra mile.
In our pasties we source all our vegetables from our local suppliers that locally source their vegetables of the highest quality when seasonally available.
All our meat comes from our local Q guild butchers ‘Williams & son’ in Wadebridge who share the same ethos as ourselves for locally sourcing only the best quality ingredients.
Our “world champion Pasty” is made using a local world champion blue cheese from the Cornish Cheese company from Bodmin moor. The award winning combination of the Cornish blue cheese & Cornish beef skirt has made this one of our customer’s favourites.
Our Yummy Sausage rolls are packed with the finest sausage meat from Tamblyns family farm which is wrapped around our own buttery puff pastry. Using a local producer allows us to develop with them our own recipe and get the right product, for us the key is using only 100% sausage meat.
Our Bakery is on the outskirts of Padstow where our dedicated team of bakers work to produce all our amazing products; everyone handmade and crafted individually to give that home-cooked taste.
The Eads started the business back in 1980, and Elaine has been the driving force for all of those years striving for quality & perfection.
Over the years we have won many prestigious awards from “world pasty champions” to “taste of the west winners”.
